In 2020 we started a regular class in North Eastern Brazilian dance styles. Given that we’re still in Covid restrictions we’ve decided to do an online version. We’ll be premiering the video on Youtube so you can watch it directly on our channel or on our website: Link in bio to take part and set a reminder.

This class is perfect for anyone who’s always wanted to give Carnival dance a try, through to more experienced dancers wishing to extend their understanding of Pernambucan dance styles from the North East of Brazil…and now you can do it from the comfort of your own home.

Though it appears we hit the £3,000 mark, we need to raise another £100 to actually hit that taking platform fees into account. We can of course keep this going to reach even more groups. If you have £1 to spare, it is gratefully received.

Balé Afro Raízes, a dance organisation working in Afro cultural dance with a special focus on making dance activity accessible to men who wish to participate. Perhaps we take for granted the stigma around this in many countries around the world.

Hello wonderful people! .
We have now made two more donations; Maracatu Nação Cambinda Estrela and dance-based social project Majé Molê.

So far in our crowdfunder, together we have supported 9 groups [see the Story for full details and links in the link in our bio.]

We have seen so many photos coming in from groups who are already distributing care packages in the community, and we only set this crowdfunder up 8 days ago! You are all incredible, thank you again from the bottom of our/their hearts
