ABOUT THE WORKSHOPS
Join Manuela and Juba do Leão for a day of dance inspired by the songs, sights, and streets of Brazilian Carnival. The focus for the day will be choreography to music from Pernambuco (North East Brazil). All dance abilities welcome. You will also get to dance to live drumming with drummers from Juba do Leão.

MEET THE TUTOR
DANCE: MANUELA BENINI
Manuela is a freelance choreographer, Carnival artist, producer, and performer working with outdoor arts organisations in the UK, India and Brazil. She regularly works with: Emergency Exit Arts, Mandinga Arts, Cardboard Citizens, Walk the Plank, Global Grooves, Nutkhut and is an associate artist with Festive Road and Akademi.
Manuela worked with Juba do Leão in 2015 to develop a core of 4 dancers skills, and is excited to work with them again to further their skills as choreographers and dance directors (as well as deliver an open workshop to inspire new participants to engage in more diverse dance styles).
